Morning rain inspired sleeping in late. Friday fish fry at small cafe
in Redfield, New York. We were the only non-local customers and had to tell our
story. Yummy homemade style food.
Stopped in West Layden to find a place
to sleep. Tried calling the B&B but no answer. Owners of a camping
area are out of town for the weekend. So we ate dinner outside of the
market planning to try the B&B one more time and then go on to
Booneville if there was no answer.
Gary and Betsy talked to us at the market and invited us to stay
at their house. They live in a large historic farmhouse. It was just
what we needed. A long hot bath, laundry, homemade cinnamon rolls, and a
bed.
We helped them sort a large box of seed packets and discussed
gardens, food storage, hunting, and other various topics.
